COMMISSION RELATIONSHIPS

There are three major roles of the Commission and relationship types with different parties.
Planning within District - developing an area master plan and coordinating that plan with the City of Oklahoma City’s master plan. In addition, it must approve all the in-district plans, which will be produced by the new Oklahoma Capitol Complex and Centennial Commission.

Enforcement and Advice - Commission regularly receives advice and input from two important committees, the Citizens Advisory Committee and the Historic Preservation and Landmark Board of Review.

In addition to its other responsibilities, the Commission is responsible for enforcement of its codes. It accomplishes this role in cooperation with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, the Municipal Court of Oklahoma City and District Court.

District Stakeholders Relationships - the legal authority of the Commission related to land use and zoning within its District. The Commission must coordinate the needs and desires of all these elements as it seeks to serve the public good.
