An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a simple diagnostic test that allows medical providers to identify the source of heart problems (including inadequate blood flow, irregular heartbeats, heart disease, heart attacks, etc.) by analyzing the electrical activity of the heart. ECG machines are lifesaving devices; however, they are currently size- and cost-prohibitive to millions of heart patients.
