Oklahoma Health Research Program (Health)
Some of the most valuable research in helping people live longer, healthier lives happens right here in Oklahoma. That's why the Oklahoma Health Research program competitively awards seed funds for research projects related to human health.
The Health program funds projects for one to three years at a maximum level of $45,000 per year. Eligible applicants are Oklahoma universities and colleges, non-profit research foundations and commercial enterprises in Oklahoma. Proposal preparation workshops are presented to assist applicants.
The awards enable researchers to gain the expertise and produce the data needed to obtain larger grants from federal agencies and other national funding organizations. All proposals are reviewed and ranked for funding by experienced health researchers who reside outside the state of Oklahoma. Peer reviewers evaluate applications for scientific merit based on the quality of the proposed research, qualifications of the principal investigator and appropriateness of the institutional facilities and budget.
