For their fans' sake, relatively new Oklahoma band, The SouthWestern Playboys, has already been making long night drives across the state and everywhere from here to Lincoln and Houston. Since forming in Weatherford about two years ago, the band have taken their biting, rocking red dirt country edge to stages across Oklahoma. In spring 2011, the band was picked up by recording agent and manager Cody Russ from R&R Entertainment. Recently the band has been laying down tracks for a new album where they hope to have it released by the winter. True to their local, red dirt/Texas country roots, the group cites No Justice, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, and The Casey Donahew Band as influences.
