Since forming in 2009, DEERPEOPLE have gone from informal jam sessions, to house parties, to small bars, and now the indie rockers headline shows around Oklahoma and neighboring states. DEERPEOPLE's guitarist, Alex Larrera, utilizes both spacious, fuzzy noise and quirky, punchy melodies, while Julian Shen is just plain masterful on violin and keyboards. Pianist and frontman Brennan Barnes? beautifully warm and controlled vocal style is ubiquitous and resonates with listeners, particularly on the energetic, dynamic ''New Dance,'' and the intelligent and hypnotic ''Ulysses.'' Bassist Derek Moore, vocalist Kendall Looney and drummer Jordan Bayhylle round out the group. In January, DEERPEOPLE released their second album, a five song EP.
