George Stroud (Ray Milland) is the editor of Crimeways magazine published by the tyrannical Earl Janoth (Charles Laughton) in the classic film The Big Clock. After Stroud misses a vacation with his wife (Maureen O?Sullivan), he winds up spending time with his boss?s mistress. When she is murdered, all the clues begin to point in the editor?s direction, suggesting a frame up. Adapted from Kenneth Fearing?s 1946 novel, the film was remade in 1987 with Kevin Costner in No Way Out.
